## Local Notes for Sarasota and Reef Coast

### Lakewood Ranch (~25 min via I-75)

Lakewood Ranch homes typically support larger reef builds (90 to 180+ gallons) thanks to wider room dimensions. Florida summer-AC humidity and winter heating cycles affect parameter stability; we'll talk through controllers and auto-top-off systems to keep things stable.

### Siesta Key (~20 min via Stickney Point)

Salt-air humidity near the Gulf accelerates corrosion on standard aquarium gear. For Siesta Key reefers, we recommend titanium heaters, sealed light fixtures, and stainless steel mounting hardware. Smaller condo footprints favor nano AIO reef builds (20-40 gallons).

FAQ

## Common Questions About Saltwater & Reef

Is saltwater really that much harder than freshwater?

More expensive and less forgiving of parameter swings, but not harder if you start with the right equipment. The biggest difference is investment. A reef-ready tank starts around $700, plus weekly testing of salinity and parameters.

What's the easiest first saltwater fish?

Ocellaris clownfish, royal gramma, and firefish, in that order. All hardy, peaceful, and forgiving of beginner mistakes. Skip tangs, angels, and butterflies for the first six months.

Do you carry coral?

Yes, the biggest selection between Tampa and Fort Myers. Soft, LPS and SPS frags. Every coral dipped on arrival, lit on AI Hydra and Kessil so you see colors under real lighting.
